Eq-Tek ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Eq-Tek mobile application and website at eq-tek.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our Service.
Geographic Scope Notice: This Service is intended solely for users located within the United States. By using Eq-Tek, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy and acknowledge that your data will be stored and processed inside the United States.
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you are part of an organization, we store your role within that organization.
Barn and animal data. We store information you enter about your barn, stalls, animals, feeding schedules, care logs, and related records. This includes animal names, breeds, health notes, feeding instructions, and veterinary information you choose to provide.
Hardware device data. If you use Eq-Tek hardware (e-ink stall displays or water sensors), we collect device identifiers, connectivity status, firmware versions, and sensor readings associated with your account.
Usage data. We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including access times, pages viewed, and actions taken within the app.
Device information. We may collect information about the device you use to access the Service, including device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your barn or animal data for cross-context behavioral advertising or marketing purposes.
Feed and nutrition data. We may use aggregated, de-identified feeding data (such as feed types, quantities, and feeding schedules) to improve our feed library, generate nutritional insights, and develop partnerships with feed manufacturers and suppliers. This data is aggregated across users and cannot be used to identify you or your animals individually. We will never share personally identifiable information — including your name, barn name, animal names, or contact details — with feed companies without your explicit consent.
Your data is stored securely inside the United States using Supabase, a cloud database provider. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest. We implement industry-standard security practices to protect your information.
E-ink displays and water sensor base stations store a local cache of display data on the device. This data is limited to what is needed to operate the display and does not include sensitive account credentials.
While we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where required for legal and financial audit compliance.
You may opt out of having your de-identified feeding data included in aggregated analytics shared with feed partners at any time. To opt out, contact us at privacy@eq-tek.com with the subject line "Feed Data Opt-Out" and we will exclude your data from any future partner data sharing within 30 days.
Opting out will not affect your access to the Service or any features, and will not result in any change to your subscription pricing.
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
